I grew up with Mr. Fadden across the street. He was part of the foundation of our neighborhood and of the town. An era that is passing. I remember the chickens that wandered free on the lawn and his love of the land. I am sorry for your loss.

Each year when the Veterans Day assembly at the school was nearing, I would see Jim and Mary and remind them about the assembly. I told Jim he just had to be there as I looked forward to seeing him. I loved tosee his excitement and hear him laugh! As he got older and getting around became difficult, he told me he wasn't sure if he could make it. I told him after he missed one of the assemblies, that I did not want that to ever happen again. I told him we would help him. I loved seeing his face light up when he came to the assemblies. I will forever miss him, but will remember his laugh, how he always made me feel like he was so excited to see me, and his love of life.
