Gerald, Sr. was a lovely and very funny man. I loved how open he was about his faith. He told me once about how he became a Christian. When he was a teen and very active at church, the president of the youth group or something, he was painting a wall to prepare for an event with a bunch of other people, as I remember. The guy next to him talked to him while working and figured out that he was trying to earn his way to heaven by being a good person and invited him to lunch and explained more accurately to him how he could come to know Jesus as his personal Savior and that it was not something you could earn. That was Billy Graham....anyway, Gerald was just a very kind and interesting person. Ellen, G2, George and the rest of the family, we are praying for you as you go through this...but I know that I will see him again. My mom died just a year ago...I know how hard and shocking it is. If you need anything, please ask.

To my caring, loving, hard working cousin. U surely will be missed by all. I remember the great times we had as children when ur family came to VT to spend summer vacation and stayed with us on the farm. We had some great times. I also remember the time Diana and I came to Florida u showed us all around. We were in awe that u worked on a radio station. U had so many records. We thought that was pretty great. Though miles separated us for years and our conversations were less in recent times, I have always considered Gerald one of my best friends. Gerald was one of the most caring and compassionate human beings I have ever known. His words of hope and encouragement when my own Mom died last year are still with me today!
